Book Review - Troubled Pursuit: Book 6 of Jessica Anderson K-9 Mysteries.

Troubled Pursuit: A Jessica Anderson K-9 Mystery (The Jessica Anderson K-9 Mysteries Book 6)Troubled Pursuit: A Jessica Anderson K-9 Mystery by D. L. Keur
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'm really happy that Ms. Keur started this series and, it seems, will be writing some more to add to the titles.

Of course, I love the dogs (Britta could come home with me), but other things I really like that make this stand out from cozy mysterious they're stacked with. First, Jessie is a reluctant detective. Matter of fact, she's not a detective at all. She knows her dogs and how to make best use of them in the rough wilderness to find people--the innocents who are lost or the guilty who are hiding out.

Her background in forensics gives her an edge over the other dog handlers sometimes called in for SAR (Search and Rescue) or HRD (Human Remains Detectors).

I've watched enough CSI type shows to understand forensics (gotta love Sol, the actual forensics expert in the Sheriff's Office). Ms. Keur is completely accurate according to my far more limited knowledge. That's a biggie making her books readable. Stupid mistakes are not made unless they're deliberately part of the plot and we, the readers, find out soon after mistakes are made.

Okay, enough of that. Read the books if you love working dogs and are fascinated by what they do. Oh, and the rest of the characters are well-written and believable too.

I highly recommend the entire series.
